Project: Handheld Touchscreen Device UI Flex Prototype

Challenge:
The user experience team at Hoverstate needed to translate a paper prototype design into a Flex prototype for a proof of concept demonstration to their clients.

The wireframe concepts were to be taken from paper to interactive prototype in Flex Builder (now Flash Builder) in order to provide the development team with the graphical user interface elements prior to the development process.

Solution:
The graphical elements of the paper wireframe were translated to Flex Builder thru the UI production process including; Photoshop image export, Flash SWF/SWC generation and export, and CSS creation. Container, Layout and Flex components were assembled and designed in Flex Builder using MXML. Sound elements were integrated into the keyboard screen for user clicks. Motion/UI Animation was Designed for screen transitions and UI Design element motion.


Results:
As a result, Hoverstate delivered an interactive User Interface prototype for proof of concept to their client within a short time period. The client was able to visualize how the UI and UX design would translate to the user on the screen.
